Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

What does All-In-One Blend do?

It delivers macronutrients and chelated micronutrients in a single bottle, so one pump covers everything a planted tank needs. It is the simplest place to start.

When should I use Macro Pro instead?

Choose Macro Pro when you want independent control of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium — typically in CO₂-injected or heavily planted tanks. Pair it with Micro Pro on alternating days.

What is Micro Pro for?

Micro Pro supplies DTPA-chelated iron and the full trace suite responsible for colour and healthy new growth. Use it alongside a macro fertilizer or to correct yellow new growth.

Do I need Root Tabs?

If you keep swords, crypts, vallisneria or other heavy root feeders in sand or gravel, yes. Root Tabs feed the substrate directly without raising water-column nutrients.

Are Nexus fertilizers shrimp safe?

Yes. Every formula is completely copper-free and dosed as directed is safe for Neocaridina, Caridina, snails and fish.

How often should I dose?

One to two times per week for low-tech tanks, three to five for high-tech aquascapes. Use the calculator above for a schedule tailored to your volume and plant density.

How should I store my fertilizer?

Keep bottles sealed, cool and out of direct sunlight. Shake before each use. Root Tabs should stay sealed in a dry place.

How do I diagnose a plant deficiency?

Use the Plant Deficiency Guide on this page. Search your symptom, read the likely cause, and follow the recommended corrective action and product.
